(Daniel 9:4 간구) And I prayed to the Lord my God, and made confession, and said, “O Lord, great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant and mercy with those who love Him, and with those who keep His commandments, 하나님은 율례를 지켜 행하는 주의 자녀를 건져주시는 분이시다. 오늘 본문에서는 메데족속 아하수에로의 아들 다리오가 갈대아 나라 왕으로 새움받던 첫해 주께서 선지자 예레미야에게 알려주신 연수를 다니엘이 깨달았는데 예루살렘의 황폐함이 칠십년만에 그칠 것이라는 것이었다. 이에 다니엘이 베옷을 입고 재를 덮어쓰고 주께 간구하기로 결심하고, 자신들과 그들의 조상이 주께서 왕들과 고관들에게 말씀하신 것을 듣지 않았다고 회개하며, 주께 긍휼과 용서하심이 있으며 행하는 모든 일이 공의로우심으로 강한 손으로 이스라엘을 애굽의 손에서 빼았았다 하고, 기도를 들으시길 간구했다. 아멘

God is the One who rescues His children who keep His decrees. In today's text, in the first year of Darius, son of Ahasuerus the Mede, who was anointed king of the Chaldeans, Daniel understood the number of years the Lord had revealed to the prophet Jeremiah: that the desolation of Jerusalem would last seventy years. Daniel, wearing sackcloth and ashes, resolved to seek the Lord. He repented that he and his ancestors had not listened to the Lord's words to kings and officials. He pleaded that the Lord was merciful and forgiving, and that all his works were just, and that he had delivered Israel from Egypt with a mighty hand. He pleaded that the Lord would hear his prayer. Amen.
