15장에서는 다윗이 아비아달을 부르고 레위 사람들을 불러 그들에게 성결하게 하며 주의 궤를 다윗이 예비한 곳으로 메어 올리라고 하였다. 이에 제사장들과 레위 사람들이 몸을 성결하게 하고 레위 자손이 하나님의 궤를 어깨에 메었다. 다윗이 레위 사람의 어른들에게 명령하여 그 형제들을 노래하는 자로 세우고 비파와 수금과 제금 등 악기를 울려서 즐거운 소리를 크게 내게 하며 레위 사람이 헤만과 아삽과 에단을 세우고 그 다음으로 스가랴와 벤과 야아시엘과 스미라못과 여히엘과 운니와 엘리압과 브냐야와 마아세야와 맛디디야와 엘리블레후와 믹네야와 문지기 오벳에돔과 여이엘을 세우니 헤만은 노래하고 아삽과 에단은 놋제금을 크게 쳤다.

(16:5)Asaph the chief, and next to him Zechariah, then Jeiel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, and Obed-Edom: Jeiel with stringed instruments and harps, but Asaph made music with cymbals;

16장에서는 하나님의 궤를 메고 들어가서 다윗이 그것을 위하여 친 장막 가운데 두고 번제와 화목제를 하나님께 드리고 여호와의 이름으로 백성에게 축복하며 이스라엘 무리 남녀에게 떡 한덩이, 야자열매로 만든 과자, 건포도로 만든 과자 하나씩을 나누어 주었다. 또 레위 사람을 세워 여호와의 궤 앞에서 섬기고 하나님을 칭송하며 감사하고 찬양하게 하였는데 그 우두머리가 아삽이며 그 다음이 스가랴, 여이엘, 스미라못, 여히엘, 맛다디야, 엘리압, 브나야, 오벧에돔, 여이엘이었다. 제사장 브나야와 야하시엘은 항상 하나님 언약궤 앞에서 나팔을  불었다.

(17:11~12)And it shall be, when your days are fulfilled, when you must go to be with your fathers, that I will set up your seed after you, who will be of your sons; and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build Me a house, and I will establish his throne-forever.

17장에서는 다윗이 그의 궁전에 거주할 때에 자신은 백향목 궁에 거주하나 여호와의 언약궤는 휘장아래 있다고 하며 주의 집을 건축하고자 하였으나 여호와께서 나단에게 주께서 거할 집을 다윗이 건축하지 말라고 하시고 주께서는 어느 사사에게도 백향목 집을 건축하라고 말씀하신 적이 없다고 하시며 디윗에게는 세상에서 존귀한 자 같이 그 이름을 만들어주겠다고 하셨다. 또한, 이스라엘을 위하여 한 곳을 정하여 그들을 심고 악한 사람이 전과 같이 해치지 못하게 하며 모든 대적으로 그에게 복종하게 하겠다고 하시며 그가 연한이 차서 그 조상들에게 돌아가면 그의 씨 중 하나를 세워 그 왕위를 영원히 견고히 하며 주의 집과 나라를 세우겠다 하셨다.

(18:6)Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became David's servants, and brought tribute. So the LORD preserved David wherever he went.

18장에서는 다윗이 블레셋 사람을 쳐서 항복을 받고 가드와 그 동네를 빼앗고 모압을 치매 모압이 조공을 바쳤다. 또한, 소바왕 하닷에셀을 치고 병거 천대와 기병 칠천명과 보병 이만명을 빼앗았다. 다메섹 아람 사람이 수비대를 두매 아람 사람이 다윗의 종이 되었다. 다윗이 하닷에셀의 신하들이 가진 금방패를 빼앗아 예루살렘으로 가져오고 그 성읍 디브핫과 군에서 심히 많은 놋을 빼앗아 놋대야와 기둥과 놋그릇을 만들었다. 하맛왕 도우가 이 소식을 듣고 아들 하도람을 보내 다윗에게 문안하고 축복하였다.



(19:13)Be of good courage, and let us be strong for our people and for the cities of our God. And may the LORD do what is good in His sight."

19장에서는 암몬의 왕 나하스가 죽고 그 아들 하눈이 왕이 되었을 때에 다윗이 나하스가 자신에게 호의를 베푼 것에 대하여 사절을 보내 문상하려고 하였으나, 암몬의 방백들이 하눈에게 다윗의 사절들이 온 것이 그 땅을 엿보고 정탐하기 위함이라고 하매 하눈이 다윗의 신하들을 붙잡아 볼기 중앙까지 자르고 수염을 깎아 돌려 보내었다. 암몬 자손이 자기가 다윗에게 미움을 산 줄을 알고 은 천달란트를 아람과 소바에 보내 병거와 마병을 삯내매 암몬 자손이 성문 앞에 진치고 여러 왕은 따로 들에 있었는데 요압이 이를 보고 이스라엘 중 뽑은 자를 아람에 대하여 진치고 나머지는 아비새의 손에 맡겨 암몬 자손을 위해 진치게 하고 싸우매 아람 사람과 암몬 자손이 패하였다.

(20:2)Then David took their king's crown from his head, and found it to weigh a talent of gold, and there were precious stones in it. And it was set on David's head. Also he brought out the spoil of the city in great abundance.

20장에서는 왕들이 출전할 때가 되어 요압이 군대를 거느리고 나가 암몬 자손의 땅을 격파하고 랍바를 함락시키며 다윗이 금 한달란트되는 그 왕 머리의 왕관을 취하여 머리에 쓰고 그 성에서 노략한 무수한 물건을 내오고 그 백성들을 끌어내어 톱과 쇠도끼와 돌써래로 일하게 하며 다윗이 모든 백성과 함께 예루살렘으로 돌아왔다. 또한, 블레셋 사람들과 게셀에서 전쟁할 때에 후사 사람 십브개가 키가 큰 자의 아들 중 십배를 쳐 죽이매 그들이 항복했다. 다시 블레셋 사람들과 전쟁할 때에 야일의 아들 엘하난이 골리앗의 아우 라흐미를 죽였다.
