(Matthew 14:19 기도) Then He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass. And He took the five loaves and two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multiudes. 하나님은 주의 자녀의 필요를 아시고 공급하시는 분이시다. 오늘 본문에서는 분봉왕 헤롯이 예수의 소문을 듣고 세례요한이 살아났다 하였는데 전에 헤롯이 동생 빌립의 아내 헤로디아를 취한 일에 대해 요한이 옳지않다 하여 감옥에 갇혔을 때, 헤롯이 생일이 되어 헤로디아의 춤을 보고 그녀에게 무엇을 줄지 물었고 그녀가 어머니의 말을 듣고 세례요한의 머리를 구하니 헤롯이 사람을 보내 세례요한의 목을 베어 소반에 얹어 가져다 주었다. 예수께서 이 일들 들으시고 혼자 빈 들에 가셨을 때 무리가 소식을 듣고 예수께 나아오자 예수께서 불쌍히 여기사 병자들을 고치시고 오천명을 먹이시는 기적을 이루셨다. 아멘

God knows the needs of His children and provides for them. In today's passage, King Herod heard the news about Jesus and claimed that John the Baptist had been resurrected. Previously, Herod had imprisoned John for allegedly taking Herodias, his brother Philip's wife, and John was accused of being unjust. On his birthday, Herod saw her dancing and asked her what he should give her. She listened to her mother's advice and asked for John the Baptist's head. Herod sent messengers and brought it to him on a platter. When Jesus heard these things, he withdrew to a deserted place by himself. When the crowds heard the news, they came to him. Moved with compassion, he healed the sick and performed miracles, feeding the five thousand. Amen.
