(Mark 6:34 존경) And Jesus, when He came out, saw a great multitude and was moved with compassion for them, because they were like sheep not having a shepherd. So He began to teach them many things. 하나님은 주의 자녀를 불쌍히 여기시는 분이시다. 오늘 본문에서는 예수께서 고향에 가셨는데 안식일에 회당에서 가르치실 때, 고향 사람들이 예수께 대하여 그 사람이 받은 지혜와 권능이 어찌됨이냐 하며 마리아의 아들 목수가 아니냐 하고 예수를 배척하였다. 이에 예수께서 선지자가 자기 고향과 자기 친척과 자기 집 외에는 존경을 받지 않음이 없다 하시고 거기서는 아무 권능도 행하실 수 없었다. 열 두 제자를 보내사 둘씩 둘씩 보내시며 더러운 귀신 제어할 권능 주시고 여행을 위하여 지팡이 외에 양식과 배낭과 전대의 돈 외의 아무 것도 가지지 말라 하셨다. 예수의 소문이 퍼지매 헤로디아의 일로 비난받은 헤롯왕에 의해 목베임당한 세례요한이 다시 살아났다고 헤롯이 생각했다. 아멘

God is a God who has mercy on His children. In today's passage, Jesus went to his hometown and on the Sabbath, while teaching in the synagogue, the people of his hometown rejected him, asking, "What means this man of wisdom and power?" They asked, "Are you not the carpenter, the son of Mary?" Jesus replied, "A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown, his own relatives, and his own house, where he is not permitted to perform any miracles." He sent out the twelve disciples, two by two, giving them authority over unclean spirits and instructing them to take nothing for their journey except a staff, food, a bag, and money in their belts. As word of Jesus spread, Herod, beheaded by Herodias, accused him of having raised John the Baptist from the dead. Amen.
