God is the One who gave His own Son to the cross for His children. In today's passage, early in the morning, the chief priests, after consulting with the entire Sanhedrin, bound Jesus and handed him over to Pilate. When Pilate asked, "Are you the king of the Jews?" Jesus answered, "You have said so," but did not answer the accusations. Pilate was astonished. Following the custom of releasing a prisoner during the Feast of Tabernacles, Pilate sought to free Jesus, but Barabbas was released. Jesus was mocked by the crowd, demanding his crucifixion. He was crucified on Golgotha with robbers. At the ninth hour, he cried out with a loud voice and died. The centurion exclaimed, "Truly he was the Son of God!" Amen.
