2장에서는 다윗이 죽을 날이 임박할 때에 솔로몬에게 명령하여 힘써 대장부가 되라고 말씀하시며 하나님 여호와의 명령을 지켜 행하고 모세의 율법에 기록한 것을 지키면 무엇을   하든지 형통할 것이라고 이야기하고 마음을 다하고 성품을 다하여 주의 앞에서 진실히 행하면 왕 위에 오를 사람이 끊어지지 않게 하겠다고 하셨다. 또한 요압이 이스라엘 장군 아브넬과 유다 장군 아마샤에게 행한 일을 잊지 말고 그의 백발이 평안히 스올에 내려가지 못하게 하라고 했다. 또한, 바르실래의 아들들에게 은총을 베풀며 악독한 말로 다윗을 저주하고 다윗에게 용서를 구하고 영접한 시므이를 무죄한 자로 여기지 말라고 하셨다.

(3:6)And Solomon said: “You have shown great mercy to Your servant David my father, because he walked before You in truth, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with You; You have continued this great kindness for him, and You have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.

3장에서는 솔로몬이 바로와 더불어 혼인관계를 맺어 그의 딸을 맞이하고 다윗성에 데려다가 두고 여호와의 성전과 예루살렘 주위 성의 공사를 끝나기까지 기다렸다. 왕이 제사하러   기브온의 큰 산당으로 갔는데 그 제단에 일천번제를 드리니 밤에 여호와께서 솔로몬의 꿈에 나타나 무엇을 줄지 구하자 주의 백성은 큰 수효여서 셀 수도 없으므로 듣는 마음을 주셔서 선악을 분별하기를 구하였다. 여호와께서 부나 원수의 생명을 멸하기를 구하지 않고 분별하는 지혜를 구하므로 그에게 지혜롭고 총명한 마음을 주시며 그 날을 길게 할 것이라 하셨다. 솔로몬이 깨어보니 꿈이었다. 이에 예루살렘에서 큰 잔치를 벌였다.

(4:24)For he had dominion over all the region on this side of the River from Tiphsah even to Gaza namely over all the kings on this side of the River; and he had peace on every side all around him.

4장에서는 솔로몬 왕이 이스라엘 왕이 되었고 사독의 아들 아사리아는 제사장, 엘리호렙과 아히야는 서기관, 여호사밧은 사관, 브나야는 제사장, 아사리아는 지방 관장의 두령, 사붓은 왕의 벗, 아히살은 궁내대신, 아도니람은 노동감독관이 되었다. 솔로몬이 온 이스라엘에   열두지방 관장을 두어 왕과 왕실을 위해 양식을 공급하게 하였는데 벤훌, 벤게벨, 아히나답, 아히마아스, 바아나, 여호사밧, 시므이, 게벨이 지방관장이 되었다. 솔로몬이 그 강에서부터 블레셋 사람의 땅에 이르기까지와 애굽 지경에 미치기까지 모든 나라를 다스리고 조공을  받았다.

(5:7)So it was, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly and said, Blessed be the LORD this day, for He has given David a wise son over this great people!

5장에서는 솔로몬이 기름부음을 받고 그의 아버지를 대신하여 왕이 되었다 함을 두로 왕 히람이 듣고 그의 신하들을 솔로몬에게 보내며 그의 평생에 다윗을 사랑하였다. 이에 솔로몬이 히람에게 사람을 보내어 이제 하나님 여호와께서 사방에 태평을 주셔서 원수도 없고 재앙도 없기 때문에 여호와를 위하여 성전을 건축하려고 하기 때문에 히람이 명령으로 백향목을  베어내게 해 줄 것을 구하였다. 이에 히람이 솔로몬의 말을 크게 기뻐하여 그의 원대로   백향목 재목과 잣나무 재목을 주매 솔로몬이 히람에게 그의 궁정의 음식물로 밀 이만 고르와 맑은 기름 이십 고르를 해마다 히람에게 주었다. 아도니람은 이 일에 감독이 되었다.


(6:12)"Concerning this temple which you are building, if you walk in My statutes, execute My judgments, keep all My commandments, and walk in them, then I will perform My word with you, which I spoke to your father David.

6장에서는 이스라엘 자손이 애굽 땅에서 나온지 사백팔십년이며, 솔로몬이 이스라엘 왕이 된지 사년에 솔로몬이 여호와를 위하여 성전을 건축하였는데 길이가 육십규빗, 너비가 이십규빗, 높이가 삼십규빗이며 성소 앞 주랑의 길이는 이십규빗이며 그 너비는 성전 앞에서부터 십규빗이었다. 성전을 위하여 붙박이 창문을 내고 성소와 지성소의 벽에 연접하여 다락들을 건축하였으며, 성전 건축 때의 돌은 그 뜨는 곳에서 다듬고 성전 속에서는 방망이나 철   연장소리가 들리지 않게 하였고 온 성전으로 돌아가며 다락방을 건축하였다. 백향목 널판으로 성전의 안벽 곧 성전 마루에서 천장까지 벽에 입혔다. 언약궤를 두기 위한 내소도 만들었다.


(7:14)He was the son of a widow from the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a bronze worker; he was filled with wisdom and understanding and skill in his working with all kinds of bronze work. So he came to King Solomon and did all work.

7장에서는 솔로몬이 자기 왕궁을 십삼년 동안 건축하여 준공하였다. 레바논 나무로 왕궁을 지었는데 길이가 백규빗 너비가 오십규빗, 높이가 삼십규빗이며 백향목 기둥이 네 줄이요 기둥 위에 백향목 들보가 있고 기둥 뒤에 있는 들보 사십오개를 백향목으로 덮었는데 한  줄에 열다섯으로 하였다. 창틀은 세줄로 하며 문과 문설주는 다 큰 나무로 네모지게 만들 었고 기둥을 세워 주랑을 지었는데 길이가 오십, 너비가 삼십규빗 이었다. 보좌의 주랑을  짓고 마루를 백향목으로 덮었고 솔로몬이 거할 뜰은 뒷 편에 만들었다. 초석에서 처마까지 귀하고 큰 돌로 만들었고 솔로몬이 히람을 두로에서 데려왔다.

In chapter 2, David commanded Solomon to become a leader when he was about to die, and said that he would prosper whatever he did if he obeyed the commands of the Lord God and kept what was written in the Mosaic Law. He said that if you do it truthfully, you will not be cut off from those who will rise above the king. He also told him not to forget what Joab had done to Abner, the general of Israel, and Amaziah, the general of Judah, so that his gray hair would not go down to Sheol in peace. He also showed favor to the sons of Barzillae, cursed David with vicious words, and asked David not to regard Shimei, who received forgiveness from him, as an innocent person.

(3:6) And Solomon said: “You have shown great mercy to Your servant David my father, because he walked before You in truth, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with You; You have continued this great kindness for him, and You have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.

In chapter 3, Solomon and Pharaoh married his daughter, took him to the city of David, and waited for the completion of the work of the temple of Jehovah and the city around Jerusalem. The king went to the great high place of Gibeon for a sacrifice, and he offered a thousand burnt offerings on the altar. At night the Lord appeared in Solomon's dream and asked what to give.The Lord's people were in great numbers and could not count, so they gave a heart to listen and asked to discern good and evil. . He said that the Lord would not seek to destroy the lives of his enemies or wealth, but to seek wisdom to discern, so that he would give him a wise and intelligent heart and prolong the day. When Solomon woke up, it was a dream. Accordingly, a great feast was held in Jerusalem.

In chapter 4, King Solomon became king of Israel, and Zadok's son Asaria was a priest, Elihoreb and Ahijah were scribes, Jehoshaphat was a military officer, Benaiah was a priest, Asaria was the head of the local government, and the son of Sabud was the king's friend, and Ahisar was the chief of the court. , Adoniram became a labor inspector. Solomon appointed twelve rulers in all of Israel to provide food for the king and the royal family. Benhur, Bengebel, Ahinadab, Ahimaaz, Baana, Jehoshaphat, Shimei, and Geber became district governors. Solomon ruled and received tribute from the river to the land of the Philistines and to the land of Egypt.

(5:7) So it was, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly and said, Blessed be the LORD this day, for He has given David a wise son over this great people!

In chapter 5, when Hiram king of Tire heard that Solomon was anointed and became king on behalf of his father, he sent his servants to Solomon, and he loved David all his life. So Solomon sent a man to Hiram and asked that the Lord God would now give peace to all sides, so that he would cut down the cedar trees by order of Hiram because he wanted to build a temple for the Lord because there were no enemies and no plagues. So Hiram was greatly pleased with Solomon's words, and gave him cedar and pine wood according to his wishes, and Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand choices of wheat and twenty choices of pure oil to Hiram as food for his court every year. Adoniram became the director in this matter.

In Chapter 6, the children of Israel came out of Egypt for four hundred and eighty years, and in the fourth year after Solomon became king of Israel, Solomon built a temple for the Lord, sixty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, thirty cubits high, and a colonnade in front of the sanctuary. Its length was twenty cubits, and its width was ten cubits from the front of the temple. Built-in windows were made for the temple, and attics were built by connecting the walls of the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place, and the stone at the time of the temple construction was trimmed at the floating place, and the sound of bats or iron tools was not heard in the temple, and the attic was built while returning to the entire temple. . Cedar planks were used to overlaid the inner walls of the temple, from floor to ceiling. They also made an inner chamber for the ark of the covenant.

In Chapter 7, Solomon built and completed his palace for thirteen years. The royal palace was built out of Lebanese wood, with a length of 100 cubits, fifty cubits wide, and thirty cubits high, with four rows of cedar pillars, with cedar beams on the pillars, and forty and five beams behind the pillars covered with cedar, fifteen in one row I did. The window frames were made of three rows, the doors and the doorposts were all made of large wooden squares, and columns were erected to build a column, fifty long and thirty cubits wide. The throne corridor was built, the floor was covered with cedar, and a courtyard for Solomon was built in the back. From the cornerstone to the eaves, they were made of precious and large stones, and Solomon brought Hiram from Tire.
