Proverbs 25:6~7 견고

(Proverbs 25:6~7 견고) Do not exalt yourself in the presence of the king, And do not stand in the place of the great; For it is better that he say to you, "Come up here," Than that you should be put lower in the presence of the prince, Whom your eyes have seen. 하나님은 주의 자녀로 겸손케 하시어 존귀케 하시는 분이시다. 오늘 본문에서는 '일을 숨기는 것은 하나님의 영화요 일을 살피는 것은 왕의 영화니라'고 하시며 하늘의 높음과 땅의 깊음 같이 왕의 마음을 헤아릴 수 없다고 하고 은에서 찌꺼기를 제하듯이 왕 앞에서 악한 자를 제하면 왕 위가 의로 말미암아 견고히 설 것이라 했다. 또한 왕 앞에서 스스로 높은 체 하지 말고 대인들의 자리에 서지 말라고 하시며 사람이 그에게 이리 올라 오라고 하는 것이 낫다고 했다. 이웃과 다투거든 변론만 하고 남의 은밀한 일은 누설하지 말라고 하시며 경우에 합당한 말은 아로새긴 은쟁반의 사과라고 하고 꿀을 보거든 족하리만큼 먹으라 했다. 아멘
