(Jeremiah 24:7 무화과) Then I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the Lord; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God, for they shall return to Me with their whole heart. 하나님은 주의 자녀로 전심으로 주를 따라 행하게 인도하시는 분이시다. 오늘 본문에서는 바벨론의 느부갓네살 왕이 여고냐와 유다 고관들과 철공들을 바벨론으로 옮긴 후에 주께서 성전 앞에 놓인 무화과 두 광주리를 예레미야에게 보이셨는데 한 광주리에는 극히 좋은 무화과가 있고 한 광주리에는 극히 나쁜 무화과가 있었다. 이에 좋은 무화과와 같이 바벨론으로 옮긴 백성을 주께서 잘 돌보실 것이며 다시 그 땅으로 인도하여 주께서 여호와이신 줄 아는 마음을 그들에게 주어 그들이 주의 백성이 될 것이요, 시드기야와 예루살렘에 남은 자들은 나빠서 먹을 수 없는 무화과가 되게 할 것이라 했다. 주의 은총에 감사한다.

God is the one who leads His children to follow Him wholeheartedly. In today’s text, after King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon deported Jechonias, the officials of Judah, and the ironworkers to Babylon, the Lord showed Jeremiah two baskets of figs placed in front of the temple, one basket containing very good figs and the other basket containing very bad figs. Like the good figs, the Lord said that He would take good care of the people deported to Babylon and bring them back to their own land and give them a heart to know that He is the Lord, so that they would be the Lord’s people, but Zedekiah and those who were left in Jerusalem would become bad figs that could not be eaten. I am thankful for the Lord’s grace.
