(Jeremiah 29:12~13 평안) Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. 하나님은 주께 간절히 드리는 주의 자녀의 기도를 들으시는 분이시다. 오늘 본문에서는 선지자 예레미야가 바벨론에 포로로 간 장로와 제사장과 선지자와 모든 백성에게 편지를 보내었는데, 시드기야가 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살에게로 가게 한 사반의 아들 엘리사와 힐기야의 아들 그마랴 편으로 말하여, 그들이 거기서 아내를 맞이하고 자녀를 낳으며 텃밭을 만들고 열매를 먹고 집을 짓고 살아 번성하며, 그 성읍의 평안을 구하라고 했다. 또한 그들이 선지자와 점쟁이에게 미혹되지 말며 바벨론에서 칠십년이 차면 주의 선한 말을 성취하여 예루살렘으로 돌아오게 하시겠다고 하고 주의 생각은 평안이며 재앙이 아니라 했다. 아멘

God is the One who hears the prayers of His children who earnestly offer up to Him. In today’s text, the prophet Jeremiah sent a letter to the elders, priests, prophets, and all the people who were taken captive to Babylon, and spoke through Elisha son of Shaphan and Gemariah son of Hilkiah, whom Zedekiah had sent to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, telling them to take wives there, have children, plant gardens, eat fruit, build houses, live and multiply, and seek the peace of the city. He also said that they should not be deceived by the prophets and diviners, and that after seventy years in Babylon, the Lord would fulfill His good word and bring them back to Jerusalem. He said that the Lord’s thoughts are for peace and not for disaster. Amen.
