(Jeremiah 44:30 겸손) Thus says the LORD: "Behold, I will give Pharaoh Hophra king of Egypt into the hands of his enemies and into the hand of those who seek his life, as I gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, his enemiy who sought his life. 하나님은 주의 자녀의 대적을 넘겨 주심으로 주의 자녀를 해방하시는 분이시다. 오늘 본문에서는 애굽 땅 믹돌과 다바네스와 놉과 바드로스 지방에 사는 자들에게 예레미야를 통하여 여호와의 말씀이 임하여 그들이 예루살렘과 유다 모든 성읍에 내린 재앙을 그들이 보았다고 하시며 이는 그들이 다른 신들에게 나아가 주의 노여움을 일으켰다고 하셨다. 또한 이 일로 유다 성읍과 예루살렘 거리를 불살랐다고 하시며 그들이 어찌 큰 악을 행하여 자기 영혼을 해한다고 하시며 그들이 오늘날까지도 겸손하지 않아 주의 율법과 법규를 지켜 행하지 아니한다고 하였다. 이에 그들이 자신들이 하늘 여왕에게 분향하고 전제를 드릴 것이라고 하자, 예레미야가 주께서 그들에게 재앙 내리며 애굽왕도 잡히리라 했다. 아멘
