온유한 부모가 되게 하소서
 
온유하심으로 온 주의 주를 바라보며 온유한 부모가 되기를 간구합니다.
 
우리는 오늘도 나로 인해 생기는 어려움과 다른 사람으로부터 기인하여 오는 고난을 겪으며 살아감을 고백합니다.
 
하나님께서는 그런 우리에게 분을 내지 않도록 하시며 분을 낼지라도 그것을 가라앉혀 더 적극적으로 사랑하게 하시고 그 고통을 인내함으로서 부드러운 마음을 주시는 분이십니다.
 
강한 힘과 권력으로 문제를 정복하는 자가 아니라, 뛰어난 술수와 전략으로 자녀양육의 땅을 차지하는 부모가 아니라, 하나님의 뜻에 순종함으로 하나님의 기업이 주어짐을 경험하는 부모가 되게 하옵소서.
 
하나님의 뜻에 순종하며, 의탁하여서 하나님이 쓰시기에 합당하게 길들여진 전인격으로 하나님 나라의 축복에 들어가게 하옵소서.
 
하나님과의 관계, 자신과 자녀와의 관계, 다른 사람들과의 관계가 가져다주는 모든 일을 기꺼이 받아들이며 하나님의 방법이 항상 최선의 것임을 믿기 원합니다.
 
하나님께서는 모든 일이 합력하여 선을 이루도록 역사하신다는 것을 온유한 삶으로 고백하게 하옵소서.

May we be gentle parents.

We pray that we may be gentle parents, looking to the Lord of all lords with gentleness.

Even today, we confess that we live with difficulties brought on by ourselves and suffering brought on by others.

God does not allow us to become angry, but even if we do, He calms us down and allows us to love more actively, and through enduring that pain, He gives us a tender heart.

May we not be parents who conquer problems with force and power, nor parents who seize the land of child-rearing with brilliant tactics and strategies, but parents who experience God's inheritance through obedience to His will.

May we enter the blessings of God's kingdom as whole persons, trained to be worthy of His use, by obeying and entrusting to His will.

May we willingly accept all that comes from our relationships with God, with our children, and with others, and believe that God's way is always best.

May we confess with gentle lives that God works all things together for good. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
