God is the One who leads us to glorify Himself through healing through His children. In today's passage, when the Pharisees and Sadducees came to Jesus from Jerusalem and pointed out that His disciples did not wash their hands when eating bread, Jesus pointed out that they said, "What I would have benefited you with is a gift to God," and that they did not honor their parents. He said that they honored Him with their lips, but their hearts were far from Him. He said that what goes into the mouth cannot defile a person, but what comes out is what defiles them. He also told this parable to Peter and the disciples: "Evil thoughts, adultery, fornication, theft, and false witness defile a person." He then healed the daughter of a Canaanite woman at her plea. Praise the Lord.
