(Mark 8:35~36 안식) For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's will save it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? 하나님은 목숨까지 바치는 주의 자녀를 통해 구원을 이루시는 분이시다. 오늘 본문에서는 예수께서 큰 무리와 함께 있었는데 제자들에게 떡이 몇개나 있었는지 물으시고, 일곱이라는 말을 들으시고 무리를 명해 땅에 앉게 하시고 떡 일곱개를 가지사 축사하시고 떼어 제자들에게 나누어주게 하시니 무리가 배불리 먹고 남은 조각이 일곱 광주리가 되었다. 예수께서 달마누다 지방으로 가셨을 때 바리새인들이 예수께 표적을 구하니 예수께서 탄식하시며 그들에게 표적을 주지 않을 것이라 하시고 제자들에게 바리새인의 누룩을 조심하라 하셨다. 예수께서 안수하시어 맹인을 고치시고, 베드로의 그리스도시란 고백을 들으시고 자신의 고난을 말씀하셨다. 아멘

God is the one who accomplishes salvation through His children who even give their lives. In today's passage, Jesus was with a large crowd when He asked His disciples how many loaves they had. When He heard that there were seven, He commanded the crowd to sit down on the ground. Then He took the seven loaves, gave thanks, broke them, and gave them to His disciples. The crowds were filled, and the broken pieces filled seven baskets. When Jesus went to the region of Dalmanutha, the Pharisees asked Him for a sign. He sighed and said He would not give them a sign, warning His disciples to beware of the yeast of the Pharisees. Jesus laid His hands on a blind man and healed him. After hearing Peter's confession that He was the Christ, He spoke of His sufferings. Amen.
