(John 18:36 기드론) Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingom is from another place." 하나님은 주의 자녀를 주의 나라로 인도하시는 분이시다. 오늘 본문에서는 예수께서 제자들과 함께 기드론 시내 건너편으로 나가셨는데 예수께서 제자들과 모이는 곳이어서 유다도 그곳을 알고 있었고 이에 유다가 대제사장이 보낸 사람들과 함께 그리로 왔다. 그들이 나사렛 예수를 찾느냐는 말에 예수께서 '내가 그니라'라고 대답하시며, 시몬 베드로는 칼로 대제사장 말고의 귀를 베었으나 예수께서 베드로에게 칼을 칼집에 꽂으라고 하시고, '아버지께서 내게 주신 잔을 마시지 아니하겠느냐'하며 안나스의 집으로 끌려가시고 베드로는 사람들의 '제자 중 하나가 아니냐'는 질문에 예수님을 부인했다. 아멘

God is the One who leads His children into His Kingdom. In today's passage, Jesus went out with His disciples to the other side of the Kidron Valley; since this was the place where Jesus gathered with His disciples, Judas also knew the location, and so Judas came there with the men sent by the high priest. When they asked if they were looking for Jesus of Nazareth, Jesus answered, "I am he." Simon Peter had cut off the ear of the high priest Malchus with a sword, but Jesus told Peter to put his sword back in its sheath. Then, asking, "Will you not drink the cup that the Father has given me?", Jesus led them to the house of Annas, and Peter denied Jesus in response to the people's question, "Are you not one of the disciples?" Amen.
