기독학부모가 자기를 계발하는 훈련을 하게 하소서
 
하나님의 놀라운 계획과 사랑 가운데 우리를 불러주신 하나님, 우리의 형편과 상황을 보면 실망하지만 그럼에도 불구하고 여전히 우리의 삶을 기대하시는 아버지 하나님, 성실하게 주님이 주신 소명을 잃지 않고 날마다 정진하는 삶을 살아가길 원합니다.
 
그러나 주님, 제 모습을 살펴보면 아쉬움이 큽니다.
 
자녀들에게는 소명을 강조하면서 하루 하루 충실히 살아라, 공부도 열심히 하여자, 독서 및 자기계발에 충실해라, 독려도 하고 이곳저곳 기웃거리며 정보도 얻고 가르치는데 정작, 부모인 '나'의 소명과 '나'의 자기계발에는 관심도 기울이지 못하고 하루하루 의미 없이 보내는 모습을 발견합니다.
 
이제부터라도 '자녀'에게 쏟는 관심을 못지않게 '나'의 삶을 규모 있게 가꾸며 주님 기뻐하시는 소명의 삶을 살아가기 위해 부지런히 자기계발을 하도록 인도하여 주옵소서.
 
그리하여 부모가 소명을 향해 걸음을 충실히 걷기 위해 자신을 돌아보고 성장해가며, 참된 행복을 만들어가는 그 모습이야말로 어린 자녀들에게 선한 영향을 끼치는 제일 좋은 본임을 깨닫게 하옵소서.

May Christian parents engage in the discipline of self-development.

God, who has called us within Your amazing plan and love; Father God, who is disappointed when we look at our circumstances and situations, yet still expects our lives despite them; I desire to live a life of daily striving, faithfully fulfilling the calling You have given me without losing sight of it.

However, Lord, when I look at myself, I feel a great sense of regret.

While I emphasize the calling to my children—encouraging them to live each day faithfully, study hard, and be diligent in reading and self-development—and while I wander here and there gathering information to teach them, I find myself spending each day meaninglessly, failing to pay any attention to my own calling as a parent or to my own self-development.

From now on, please guide me to cultivate my own life with equal importance, just as I do to my children, and to diligently engage in self-development so that I may live a life of calling that pleases You.

May Christian parents train themselves in self-development. Therefore, may we realize that the sight of parents reflecting on themselves and growing to faithfully walk toward their calling, while creating true happiness, is the best example to exert a positive influence on their young children.
