8월 첫날의 기도
 
살아계신 아버지 하나님!
 
눈부신 하늘과 뜨거운 태양, 집어 삼킬 듯한 폭풍과 한줄기의 소낙비, 시원스레 울어대는 매미와 뿌리를 깊게 내리는 들풀로 가득 찬 8월에도 하나님의 은혜가 가정과 교회, 학교와 이 사회에 가득하기를 소원합니다.
 
변화무쌍하지만 일관성 있게 이 세상을 지키고 견고하게 붙드시는 하나님의 섭리를 깨달으며 교육에서도 주님의 주권 아래 바른 방향과 목적을 지향하게 하옵소서.
 
8월에는 자녀가 꿈을 찾아가는 여정이 더욱 즐겁게 하옵소서.
 
메마른 땅과 같은 교육의 현실 속에서도 자녀의 인생의 토양마다 보화가 감추어져 있음이 위로와 소망이 됨을 고백합니다.
 
하나님께서 자녀 인생에 몫으로 주신 소명의 땅을 일구도록 사랑과 기다림으로 함께 하는 부모가 되게 하시고, 마침내 저마다의 인생을 피워내는 교육이 이 땅 가운데 이루어지게 하옵소서.
 
우리 자녀들이 학업으로 경쟁하고 비교하는 곤고함을 아시는 주님, 새로운 학기에는 나의 길을 찾아 나아가는 용기와 모험심, 결단을 더하여 주셔서 학업의 징검다리를 힘있게 건너 장차 하나님 나라를 이루어가는 복된 삶에 이르게 하옵소서.

Prayer for the First Day of August

Living Father God!

In this month of August, filled with dazzling skies and scorching sun, engulfing storms and gentle downpours, refreshing cicadas chirping, and wild grasses taking root, may Your grace abound in our homes, churches, schools, and society.

May we understand Your providence, which, though ever-changing, consistently protects and sustains this world, and may we, under Your sovereignty, pursue the right direction and purpose in our education.

May the journey of our children in pursuit of their dreams be even more joyful this August.

Even amidst the barren reality of education, I confess that it is a source of comfort and hope that treasures are hidden in every soil of our children's lives.

May we be parents who, with love and patience, work alongside our children to cultivate the land of calling You have given them. May we ultimately cultivate the land of their own lives, bringing forth the blossoming of their own unique lives, in this land.

Lord, you know the hardships our children face as they compete and compare themselves academically. In this new semester, please grant them the courage, adventurous spirit, and determination to find their own path. May they boldly cross the academic hurdles and reach a blessed life building the kingdom of God.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
