(Jonah 2:8~9 성전) “Those who regard worthless idols Forsake their own Mercy.But I will sacrifice to You With the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay what I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord.” 하나님은 감사로 주께 제사드리는 주의 자녀를 기뻐하시는 분이시다. 오늘 본문에서는 요나가 물고기 뱃속에서 여호와께 기도하여 자신이 받는 고난으로 인해 여호와께 불러 아뢰니 주께서 대답하셨다 하며 주께서 자신을 깊음 속 바다 가운데 던지셨기 때문에 큰 물이 자신을 덮었다고 하였다. 그러나 요나는 자신이 비록 주의 목전에서 쫓겨났을지라도 다시 주의 성전을 바라보겠다고 하며 자신이 산의 뿌리까지 내려갔지만 여호와께서 자신의 생명을 구덩이에서 건지셨다 하고 자신이 피곤할 때 여호와를 생각하였더니 자기 기도가 성전에 미쳤다고 하며 자기 서원을 주께 갚겠다고 하였다. 주를 찬양한다

God delights in His children who offer sacrifices to Him with thanksgiving. In today's passage, Jonah prays to the Lord from the belly of the fish. He says, "I cried out to the Lord because of my distress, and the Lord answered me." He says, "The Lord had cast me into the deep, into the heart of the sea, and the floodwaters covered me." Yet, Jonah declares, "Even though I was driven out from the Lord's presence, I will look again toward the Lord's temple." He declares, "I went down to the roots of the mountains, but the Lord brought me up from the pit." He says, "When I was weary, I remembered the Lord, and my prayer reached the temple." He declares, "I will pay my vow to the Lord." Praise the Lord.
