자녀의 진로를 돕는 부모가 되게 하소서
 
하나님, 자녀가 하나님이 만드신 특별하고 소중한 창조물이며, 하나님의 거룩한 창조 목적(divine purpose)과 그 창조 목적에 필요한 은사를 가진 존재임을 고백합니다.
 
그런데 주님, 부모인 우리는 이러한 사실을 망각한 채 나의 욕망과 우리 세대의 획일적 성공 기준에 자녀를 맞추려 할 때가 많았음을 회개합니다.
 
주님, 이제는 자녀의 독특성을 인정하고, '당신의 기쁘신 뜻을 위해 그 아이 안에 두신 소원'(빌2:13)이 무엇인지 발견해, 하나님께서 자녀를 이 땅에 보내실 때 계획하셨던 그 삶을 살 수 있도록 지원하는 부모가 되게 하옵소서.
 
지금은 시몬이나 예수님을 만나 장차 게바(큰 반석)가 될(요1:42) 우리 자녀를 믿음의 눈으로 바라볼 줄 아는 시야를 주옵소서.
 
자녀가 좋아하고 잘하는 것을 함께 발견해주고 아이의 소명 안에 응답하며 살아가도록 진로를 고민하는 부모 되게 하옵소서.
 
입시 위주의 교육 제도 속에서, 자녀의 진로에 대한 고민은 점차 사라지고 있습니다.
 
이럴 때일수록 우리 기독학부모는 주님 안에서 자녀의 진로를 고민하고, 소명의 돕는 용기와 믿음을 가진 부모가 되게 하옵소서.

Let us be parents who support our children's paths.

God, we confess that children are special and precious creations of God, possessing God's divine purpose and the gifts necessary for fulfilling that purpose.

However, Lord, we as parents often forget this truth and try to fit our children into our own desires and the uniform standards of success of our generation. We repent.

Lord, let us now acknowledge our children's uniqueness, discover what "you have placed in them for your good pleasure" (Philippians 2:13), and support them in living the life you planned for them when you sent them to this world.

Give us the perspective to see our children with eyes of faith, whether they are Simon or Jesus, who will one day become Cephas (a great rock) (John 1:42).

Let us be parents who discover together what our children enjoy and excel at, and who consider their future paths so that they can live in accordance with their calling.

In an education system focused on college entrance exams, concerns about children's future paths are gradually disappearing.

In times like these, may we, Christian parents, be parents who, in the Lord, ponder our children's future paths and have the courage and faith to support them in their calling.
