청소년기 자녀에게 정체성이 형성되게 하소서
 
자녀의 삶에서 가장 중요한 전환과 성장의 시간을 맞이하게 하신 하나님, 감사를 드립니다.
 
사춘기에 접어든 자녀가 감정 기복이 크고 부모와 부딪힐 때도 있음을 고백합니다.
 
자녀가 또 다른 객체로서 독립기를 겪는 이 시기를 부모로서 잘 감당하게 하시고, 응원하게 하옵소서.
 
삶에 대한 의문과 고민들이 생기는 시기이고, 때로는 방황하기도 하는 시기이니 인내로 자녀를 기다리게 하옵소서.
 
하나님, 특별히 자녀가 하나님 앞에서 자신이 누구인지 발견하는 시간이 될 수 있기를 원합니다.
 
신앙 안에서 내가 누구인고, 어디에 속해 있으며 무엇을 위해 사는지 답을 찾는 시간이 되게 하옵소서.
 
이를 위해 부모가 좋은 신앙의 선배가 되게 하시고, 건강한 신앙 공동체 속에서 성장하게 하옵소서.
 
또래 친구에게 인정받고자 하는 욕구가 큰 이 시기에 좋은 친구들을 허락하여 주시어서 서로 간에 선한 영향력으로 이끌어주는 동무가 되게 하옵소서.
 
뿌리 깊은 나무처럼 신앙 안에서 뿌리 내려 앞으로의 삶에서 마주할 과제들, 진로, 진학, 직업, 결혼 등등 속에서도 건강하게 선택하고 삶을 확장시키는 아이 되게 하옵소서.

May a sense of identity be formed in our adolescent children.

We give thanks to God for allowing our children to face this most important time of transition and growth in their lives.

We confess that our children, having entered puberty, experience significant mood swings and sometimes clash with their parents.

As parents, may we endure this period well and support our children as they experience independence as a distinct individual.

Since this is a time when questions and worries about life arise, and when they may sometimes wander, may we wait for our children with patience.

God, we especially desire that this be a time for our children to discover who they are before You.

May this be a time for them to find answers within faith regarding who they are, where they belong, and what they live for.

To this end, may we become good mentors in faith and help them grow within a healthy faith community.

At this time, when the desire to be accepted by peers is strong, may You grant them good friends so that they may become companions who lead one another with positive influence. May this child take root in faith like a deeply rooted tree, and become someone who makes healthy choices and expands their life amidst the challenges they will face in the future—career path, further education, occupation, marriage, and so on.

I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
