성취지향의 문화를 긍휼히 여기소서
 
전인적인 존재로 인간을 지으시고 균형 있게 성장해 가는 것을 기뻐하시는 하나님, 오늘날의 교육은 성적지상주의, 성취지향주의로 치우치고 있습니다.
 
하나님, 이런 교육 현실에 대해 애통하는 마음을 주옵소서.
 
그리스도인 부모임에도 주위 부모들과 사회 분위기에 휩쓸려 성적으로 아이의 가능성을 평가하며, 심지어 다른 아이들과 비교하여 성적이 뒤처지면 열등감을, 앞서면 우월감을 갖고 자랑하기까지 하는 그런 모습이 있었음을 고백합니다.
 
자녀가 다니는 학교나 성적에 따라 아이를 평가하는 잘못을 범하지 않도록 도와주시고 부모인 저희가 지나친 경쟁의식으로 인한 성적과 등수, 학교를 앞세우는 문화가 점차 근절될 수 있게 회복시켜 주옵소서.
 
아이들을 인격적으로 대하고 성적에 관계없이 있는 모습 그대로를 사랑하는 사랑의 교육, 하나님의 성품이 반영되어 기독교교육 안에 하나님의 생기가 가득하게 하옵소서.

Have mercy on the achievement-oriented culture

God, who created humans as whole beings and rejoices in their balanced growth, today’s education is biased toward grade-oriented and achievement-oriented.

God, please give us a heart of sorrow for this educational reality.

I confess that even though I am a Christian parent, I have been swayed by the surrounding parents and the social atmosphere to evaluate my child’s potential based on grades, and even boast about it with a sense of inferiority when my child falls behind in grades compared to other children and a sense of superiority when he or she is ahead.

Please help us not to make the mistake of evaluating our children based on the school they attend or their grades, and please restore the culture that puts grades, rankings, and schools first due to excessive competition so that we as parents can gradually eradicate it.

Please treat children as individuals and love them for who they are regardless of their grades, and let the life of God be filled in Christian education so that God’s character is reflected.
