자녀가 바른 민족의 정체성을 배우게 하소서

대한민국 국민의 한 사람으로 불러주신 하나님, 감사합니다.

동방의 작은 나라이지만, 하나님을 경외하는 나라, 성실함으로 전쟁 후에도 나라를 재건한 나라, 창의력과 예술 감각이 넘치는 나라가 대한민국임을 고백합니다.

하나님, 이 땅의 자녀들이 하나님이 세워주신 대한민국의 국민임을 감사하며, 소중히 여기기를 소망합니다.

특별히 전쟁 속에서도, 외압 속에서도 독재정권 속에서도 하나님의 공평과 정의를 실현하고, 사랑 가운데 굳건히 선 민족임을 교육 속에서 배우게 하옵소서.

영어 유치원, 조기 유학 등 글로벌 시대에 살아남기 위해 어려서부터 다른 나라의 문화를 배우는 데에 가치를 두기에 앞서 가장 한국적인 것이 세계적인 것임을 잊지 않고, 한국의 문화나 역사를 먼저 배우기에 힘쓰게 하시고, 학교와 부모가 마땅히 가르치게 하옵소서.

그리하여 바른 민족의 정체성을 가지고 선 우리의 자녀들이 세계 곳곳에서 하나님의 이름과 대한민국의 이름을 떨치게 하옵소서.

May our children learn a true national identity.

God, thank you for calling us citizens of the Republic of Korea.

Although a small nation in the East, we confess that the Republic of Korea is a nation that fears God, a nation that rebuilt itself after war with sincerity, and a nation overflowing with creativity and artistic sensibility.

God, I thank you for the fact that the children of this land are citizens of the Republic of Korea, established by you, and I pray that they will cherish it.

Especially, may they learn through education that even in times of war, external pressure, and dictatorship, we are a nation that upholds God's fairness and justice and stands firm in love.

Before emphasizing the value of learning about other cultures from a young age to survive in this globalized era, through English kindergartens and early overseas study, may we never forget that what is most Korean is truly global. May we strive to learn Korean culture and history first, and may our schools and parents teach us accordingly.

Thus, may our children, who stand with a true national identity, spread the name of God and the Republic of Korea throughout the world.
