In today's passage, the Lord brought Ezekiel back to the outer gate of the sanctuary, which faced east. It was shut and could not be opened, for the Lord had entered through it. "The king will enter by the inner gate, through the vestibule of the gate, and sit down to eat. Then he will go out by that way." The Lord then brought Ezekiel through the north gate to the front of the temple, and the glory of the Lord filled it. The Lord instructed Ezekiel to carefully study the temple regulations, the entrance to the sanctuary, and its exits, and to tell the Israelites about them. He stated that uncircumcised foreigners were not permitted to enter the temple, but that the descendants of Zadok, having kept the sanctuary, were permitted to approach the Lord and minister to him. Amen.
