개천절에 드리는 기도
 
세상을 창조하시고 각 나라를 조성하신 하나님, 오늘은 우리나라 국경일인 개천절입니다.
 
지금까지 지켜주시고 인도해주신 이 나라가 하나님께 영광 돌리는 거룩한 나라가 되기를 원합니다.
 
하나님, 이 날에는 나라 곳곳에서 태극기를 달고 개천절 경축식과 만세삼창을 하며 자긍심을 높입니다.
 
특별히 개천절은 민족의 뿌리와 출발을 단군으로 고백하고, 그의 뜻을 새기고 있으니 참으로 안타깝습니다.
 
우리나라를 여시고 돌보시는 참 주인이신 하나님을 기억하지 못하는 이 민족에게 긍휼을 베풀어 주옵소서.
 
개천절뿐 아니라 우리나라 사회 깊숙이 자리 잡고 있는 여러 신화들, 그리고 제사와 고사를 조장하는 여러 문화 속에서 바른 교육의 길을 모색할 수 있도록 도와주옵소서.
 
하나님께서 기뻐하시는 교육을 통하여 망령되게 허탄한 신화를 버리게 하시고 오직 여호와 한 분만을 경외하는 우리 민족, 우리나라가 되게 하옵소서.
 
우리나라를 돌보시고 지켜주시는 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

A Prayer for National Foundation Day

God, who created the world and established each nation, today is National Foundation Day, our nation's national holiday.

I pray that this nation, which you have protected and guided, may become a holy nation that brings glory to you.

God, on this day, we raise our pride by flying the Taegeukgi (Korean national flag) throughout the nation, celebrating National Foundation Day, and shouting "Manse" three times.

This is especially regrettable because National Foundation Day recognizes the roots and beginnings of our nation as Dangun and enshrines his will.

Have mercy on this people who fail to remember God, the true Master who founded and cares for our nation.

Not only on National Foundation Day, but also amidst the many myths deeply entrenched in our society and the diverse cultures that promote ancestral rites and rituals, please help us to find the right path to education.

Through education that pleases you, may we cast away vain and empty myths and become a nation that fears only the Lord.

In the name of Jesus, who cares for and protects our country, we pray. Amen.
