From their silver and gold They made idols for themselves-That they might be cut off. 하나님은 주의 자녀를 위해 지도자를 세우시는 분이시다. 오늘 본문에서는 '나팔을 댈지어다'라고 하며 원수가 독수리처럼 여호와의 집을 덮칠 것은 그들이 주의 언약을 어기며 율법을 범하였기 때문이라 하였다. 또한 이스라엘이 왕들을 세웠으나 주께로부터 난 자들이 아니며 은, 금으로 만든 우상은 파괴될 것이라 하셨다. 또한 사마리아의 송아지는 타버렸고 산산조각날 것이라 하시며 그들은 바람을 심고 광풍을 거두며 이삭이 열매를 맺지 못하며, 이스라엘은 즐겨쓰지 아니하는 그릇같을 것이라 하시고 에브라임은 값주고 사랑하는 자들을 얻었지만 주께서 그들을 모으고 임금이 지운 짐으로 쇠하기 시작할 것이라 했다. 아멘

God is the One who raises up leaders for His children. In today's text, He says, "Sound the trumpet!" and that enemies will swoop down on the house of the Lord like eagles, because they have broken His covenant and violated His law. Furthermore, He declares that Israel has appointed kings, but they are not from the Lord, and that their idols of silver and gold will be destroyed. He also declares that the calf of Samaria will be burned and dashed to pieces. They will sow the wind and reap the fruit of the field; their ears will not yield fruit. Israel will be like a vessel not used with pleasure. Ephraim has acquired those who love him, but the Lord will gather them, and they will begin to wither under the burden of their king. Amen.
