자녀의 전인적 성장에 관심을 갖게 하소서
 
자녀를 주의 교훈과 훈계로 양육하라 말씀하신 하나님, 하나님의 말씀과 뜻이 주인 되지 못한 채 자녀를 바라보고 교육했을 때가 많았음을 고백합니다.
 
이제 하나님의 교육은 자녀의 전인에 관심을 가지며, 모든 삶의 영역에서 주님의 주권을 인정하는 것임을 압니다.
 
우리의 관심을 돌이켜 자녀에 대한 건강한 관심을 갖는 부모가 되길 원합니다.
 
무엇보다 자녀가 세상적인 성공을 향한 성장으로 그치는 것이 아니라, 전인격적인(지혜, 몸, 키, 사회성, 영성) 성장이 이루어지기를 원합니다.
 
세상이 추구하는 성장에만 관심 가지고 강화시키는 부모가 되는 것이 아니라, 지식을 통해 진리되신 하나님을 발견하는 지적인 성장, 하나님의 성전인 몸을 사랑하고 발달단계에 맞게 자라도록 격려하는 신체의 성장, 여호와를 경외하며 말씀의 지혜를 사모하는 영적인 성장, 이웃을 사랑하며 자신의 것을 기꺼이 내어줄 수 있는 사회성의 성장이 이루어지도록 양육하는 부모가 되게 하옵소서.

Please help us to care for our children's holistic growth.

God, you commanded us to raise our children in the training and admonition of the Lord. I confess that I have often looked upon and educated my children without being subject to Your Word and will.

Now I know that God's education is concerned with the whole person of our children and acknowledges Your sovereignty in all areas of life.

I pray that we may become parents who have a healthy concern for our children.

Above all, I desire that our children grow not simply toward worldly success, but toward holistic growth (wisdom, physical stature, social skills, and spirituality).

Instead of being parents who focus solely on and reinforce the growth pursued by the world, may we be parents who nurture them to achieve intellectual growth: discovering the truth of God through knowledge; physical growth: loving the body, the temple of God, and encouraging it to grow appropriately at its developmental stage; spiritual growth: fearing the Lord and longing for the wisdom of His Word; and social growth: loving our neighbors and willingly sharing what we have.

In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
