모든 것을 바라는 부모 되게 하소서

모든 것을 바라는 부모 되게 하소서
 
하나님 아버지, 자녀를 키우다 보면 때로는 보이지 않는 것 같은 터널을 지나는 느낌을 받을 때가 있습니다.
 
막막함을 달래보려 전문가를 찾아가보기도 하고, 책이나 시중에 나와 있는 정보들을 읽고, 주변 지인으로부터 조언을 구하기도 합니다.
 
하나님, 자녀와의 관계에서 힘들 때에도 하나님께서 원하시는 사랑이 모든 것을 바라는 것임을 기억하게 하옵소서.
 
지금 당장은 이해할 수 없다 할지라도, 설명할 수 없는 어려움 속에 있다 할지라도 결국 마지막에는 하나님의 뜻이 완성될 것을 믿는 믿음을 허락하여 주옵소서.
 
자녀에게도 같은 마음을 주시어 삶에서 낙담할 때, 자신의 삶에서 막다른 벽에 다다른 것 같을 때, 포기하지 않고 다시 해보면 된다고 말할 수 있는 '소망'이 자라나게 하시고, 하나님께서 자녀를 어떻게 부르시는지 어떻게 그의 삶 속에 선한 일을 이루어 가시는지 우리도 함께 믿음의 눈으로 바라보며 다만 우리가 그 자녀에게 어떻게 행할지를 알게 하여 주시기를 간구합니다.

Help us be parents who desire everything.

Heavenly Father, sometimes, as we raise our children, we feel like we're going through a seemingly unseen tunnel.

To soothe our despair, we seek out experts, read books and information, and seek advice from those around us.

God, even when our relationships with our children are difficult, please help us remember that the love You desire is the love that desires everything.

Even if we don't understand it right now, even if we face inexplicable difficulties, please grant us faith that Your will will ultimately be accomplished.

Give our children the same heart, so that when they feel discouraged or feel like they've reached a dead end, they will not give up but will grow in the "hope" to say, "I can try again." May we also see with eyes of faith how You call our children and how You work good in their lives, and know how we can act toward them.

In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
