의에 주리고 목마른 부모가 되게 하소서
 
하나님 아버지, 우리는 목마르고 주릴 수 밖에 없는 연약한 존재입니다.
 
생명을 유지하기 위해 목을 축여야 하고, 주린 배를 채워야 합니다.
 
그런 우리에게 예수님께서 영원히 목마르지 않는 샘물이 되어주시고, 생명의 떡이 되어주심에 감사를 드립니다.
 
하나님, 우리와 우리 자녀의 생명을 위하여 양식 아닌 것으로, 배부르게 하지 못할 것으로 채우려는 헛된 노력을 긍휼히 여겨 주옵소서.
 
하나님으로 말미암아 의롭게 되신 예수 그리스도 안에서 의롭게 된 새 사람을 입게 하옵소서.
 
우리가 공허를 느낄 때, 하나님만이 주실 수 있는 의에 대해 목마르고 주림을 깨닫고 영혼을 채우시는 하나님을 찾고 구할 수 있기를 원합니다.
 
비록 우리가 배부르게 여길 것으로 여겼던 다른 것은 부족할지라도, 빈 배로 돌아가지 않게 하시고 갈망을 채우셔서 그 축복에 만족하며 그 은혜의 양식으로 자녀들을 채우는 수고를 아끼지 않게 하옵소서.

Let us be parents who hunger and thirst for righteousness.

Father God, we are weak beings who cannot help but be thirsty and hungry.

To sustain life, we must quench our thirst and fill our empty bellies.

We thank Jesus for being the spring of water that quenches thirst forever and the bread of life.

God, have mercy on our futile efforts to fill our lives and our children's lives with things that are not food, things that do not satisfy.

Let us put on the new self, made righteous in Jesus Christ, who has been made righteous by God.

When we feel emptiness, may we realize our thirst and hunger for the righteousness that only God can give, and may we seek and seek God who fills our souls.

Even if we lack what we thought would fill us, may we not return empty-handed. May we be satisfied with His blessings and spare no effort in filling our children with the nourishment of His grace.

In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
