자녀교육에 대한 책임을 전가함을 용서하소서
 
부족하고 연약한 우리를 부모로 부르신 하나님, 이러한 우리를 자녀를 교육하는데 가장 중요한 책임자로 믿고 맡겨 주시니 감사합니다.
 
하나님께서는 아버지의 역할이 있기에 아버지를 주셨고, 어머니의 역할이 있기에 어머니를 주셨습니다.
 
그러나 우리는 그 역할을 제대로 감당하지 못한 채, 자녀교육은 전적으로 엄마의 역할이라며 아내에게 책임을 전가하기도 했고, 아버지가 권위가 있다는 이유로 남편에게 그 책임을 떠넘기기도 했습니다.
 
자녀를 바른 길로 인도하기 위해 함께 기도하며 합력하여 선을 이루지 못했던 우리의 모습을 용서해 주옵소서.
 
이제 부모가 우리 자녀의 문제에 대해 두 손을 맞잡고 하나님 앞에 함께 무릎을 꿇기를 원합니다.
 
자녀교육이 어렵고 피곤한 일일지라도 자녀와 관련된 모든 것을 함께 고민하고 대화하며 기도하기를 기쁘게 여기는 부모가 되게 하옵소서.
 
부모가 서로에게 책임을 전가하는 것이 아니라 자녀교육에 대한 책임이 '나'에게 있음을 잊지 않는 부모 되게 하옵소서.

Forgive us for shifting responsibility for our children's education.

God, who called us parents despite our shortcomings and weaknesses, thank you for entrusting us with the most important responsibility for educating our children.

God gave us fathers because we have a role to play, and mothers because we have a role to play.

However, we have failed to fulfill these roles. We have shifted responsibility to our wives, claiming that child education is solely the mother's responsibility, or to our husbands because of their authority.

Forgive us for failing to pray together and work together to guide our children on the right path.

Now, I pray that parents will join hands and kneel before God together regarding their children's problems.

Even though child education is difficult and tiring, may we be parents who delight in thinking about, discussing, and praying together about all matters related to our children.

May we not shift responsibility to one another, but may we be parents who never forget that our responsibility for our children's education lies with us.

In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
